The FG Falcon G6E

The brand new Ford FG Falcon G6E is the Fairmont Ghia’s ultimate successor, taking most of the features that the Ghia had to offer and cranking them out in all its shiny 2008 updated glory.

Combining elements of luxury with sporting flair, the G6E boasts plenty of interior space, upping its comfort levels in order to keep its driver and passengers happy.
Throw in extra pacing capabilities, and one can see why it is Ford’s new replacement for the aforementioned Fairmont Ghia.

The new Falcon G6E’s combination of six speed automatic transmission and a revised 4.0 litre six cylinder engine delivers and impressive and seamless rush of low down torque and top end power. It is also capable of delivering a sub - 10.0 L/100km fuel consumption average if tactfully driven.

Adopting a dynamic ‘luxury sports’ suspension tune, sports steering gear and 17 inch tyres make the G6E more of an unyielding ride than the entry level Falcon XT. Not only that, but it also delivers slightly less roll in corners, more grip and extra steering meatiness.

Aesthetically, despite its European inspired design, there is no denying the Falcon G6E’s Aussie character. As far as rear wheel sedans go, it emanates an air of conservatism unique to its design whilst also sporting a chrome radiator grille with a silver surround, exterior mirrors with integrated indicators and alloy wheels.

The interior cabin is lined with leather trim and plays host to a high placed color media screen, intelligent instrumentation and seats that are both soft and supportive to provide further comfort.

As far as high end equipment goes, a reversing camera, dual zone climate control air conditioning, 8 way powered driver’s seat and 8 speaker audio system are sure to keep technophiles happy. As far as safety features are concerned, inclusion of curtain airbags makes the Falcon G6E one of the two only new Falcon models to have them come as standard.
